Under Ann Arbor — Ch. 122 Fair Chance Access to Housing § 9:608, housing providers named as respondents in a complaint can expect to be contacted by the Ann Arbor Human Rights Commission as part of its review process. Operators who maintain accurate records of their screening decisions and communications are generally better positioned to respond to any inquiry or mediation the Commission initiates. If the City Attorney's Office becomes involved following a referral, it has authority to request relevant documents, and noncompliance with such requests can result in a court order compelling production.
