Detroit — Ch. 22 Art. VIII Fair Chance Access to Rental Housing § 22-8-9 places clear recordkeeping obligations on housing providers: compliant operators generally retain all tenant application forms and related documentation for no less than one year from the application date. They also make those records accessible to administering or enforcing agencies when given appropriate notice and when a mutually agreeable time is arranged. Operators are not required to hand over materials whose disclosure would conflict with state, federal, or city law, and that protection is built into the provision itself.
