Bellevue, Neb., Code of Ordinances ch. 15, art. IV § 15-103 sets an ongoing maintenance obligation for all stairways, porches, and related appurtenances on a rental property. Compliant operators typically conduct regular inspections of these structures, address deterioration such as loose railings, rotting boards, or unstable treads promptly, and document repair work to demonstrate that the structures remain structurally sound and safe for normal use. Keeping maintenance records and scheduling periodic professional assessments are practices commonly associated with meeting this standard.
