Bellevue, Neb., Code of Ordinances ch. 15 (2026) § 15-137
POSTING OF PERMIT AND OCCUPANCY RECORD CARD
Operative Text
Every rooming house, second class dwelling, hotel or nursing home permit issued by the Permits and Inspections Department shall be conspicuously posted by the operator in a public corridor or hallway or other public portion of the premises for which it is issued and shall remain so posted at all times. Every occupancy record card shall be so posted by the operator in a place where such cards are readily accessible for examination by the Permits and Inspections Department. (Code 1964, § 12A-28)
Under Bellevue, Neb., Code of Ordinances ch. 15, art. V § 15-137, operators of rooming houses, second-class dwellings, hotels, and nursing homes are required to display their permits issued by the Permits and Inspections Department in a visible, public area of the premises at all times. Occupancy record cards must also be posted in a location where they can be readily reviewed by the Permits and Inspections Department. The rule ensures that both the permit and occupancy records remain accessible and transparent within the facility.

Operators covered by Bellevue, Neb., Code of Ordinances ch. 15, art. V § 15-137 — including rooming houses, second-class dwellings, hotels, and nursing homes — generally keep their Permits and Inspections Department-issued permit conspicuously displayed in a public corridor, hallway, or other common area at all times. Compliant operators also post occupancy record cards in a location that allows the Permits and Inspections Department to examine them without difficulty. Maintaining consistent, visible posting of both documents helps demonstrate ongoing compliance with this provision.

Bellevue, Neb., Code of Ordinances ch. 15, art. V § 15-137 gives residents and visitors a basis to expect that a valid permit will be visibly posted in a public area of their rooming house, second-class dwelling, hotel, or nursing home at all times. If a permit or occupancy record card is absent or not publicly displayed, that may indicate a compliance issue worth noting. Tenants who have concerns about missing postings can contact the Bellevue Permits and Inspections Department or reach out to a local tenant-rights organization for general guidance on available options.
