B. No such dwelling, unit or house shall be used again for human habitation or the placard removed until written approval is secured from the Housing Code Inspector. C. Auburn, N.Y., Code of Ordinances ch. 182 § 182-65 establishes that when a dwelling, dwelling unit, rooming house, or rooming unit is officially designated unfit for human habitation, it must be vacated within a timeframe set by the Housing Code Inspector. Once vacated, the property cannot be re-occupied or re-rented, and any posted placard cannot be removed, until the Housing Code Inspector provides written approval. Similarly, any vacant property that has received a notice of violation is barred from being occupied or rented until that same written clearance is obtained.

Under Auburn, N.Y., Code of Ordinances ch. 182 § 182-65, compliant property operators vacate a designated-unfit property within the timeframe the Housing Code Inspector specifies and refrain from re-renting or re-occupying the space until written approval is received. Operators also leave any posted placard in place until the Inspector formally authorizes its removal. Properties that are already vacant when a notice of violation is served are similarly kept off the rental market until written clearance is secured from the Housing Code Inspector.
