For Property Managers

Under § 128-3, property owners and managers operating within Glens Falls should be aware that the city's maintenance code extends to virtually every category of residential and mixed-use property they may hold, including vacant lots, one- and two-family homes, multiple dwellings, and outbuildings. Compliant operators generally review whether each property in their portfolio falls within the chapter's scope and apply the corresponding maintenance standards accordingly. Keeping records of property classifications and any applicable exclusions can help demonstrate ongoing compliance with the chapter's broad applicability.

Tenants who believe their dwelling is subject to code requirements under this provision may raise a potential violation as a basis for a complaint with the appropriate city code enforcement office.
