For Property Managers

Under § 190-44, compliant property operators routinely inspect exterior areas for holes, excavations, sharp protrusions, and tripping hazards on walks, steps, and driveways, and arrange for timely repair or replacement. Open wells, cesspools, and cisterns are kept securely closed, and trees or limbs identified as hazardous are removed. Maintaining documentation of inspections and completed repairs is a common practice among operators seeking to demonstrate ongoing compliance with this provision.
