For Property Managers

Operators of rooming and lodging houses in Peekskill are expected to actively manage their properties in accordance with § 332-4, which means routinely inspecting and servicing plumbing, cooking fixtures, and required screens, as well as ensuring that occupancy never exceeds Uniform Code limits. Compliant operators typically establish regular cleaning schedules for walls, floors, ceilings, and common areas, keep all exits free of obstructions, and arrange for timely garbage removal and pest extermination. Maintaining documentation of inspections, service calls, and extermination treatments is a practice commonly associated with demonstrating ongoing compliance with this provision.

For Tenants
