For Property Managers

Under § 430-2, compliant building owners in Port Jervis ensure that a properly sized and framed notice is posted at the front or main entrance of each covered building at all times, keeping the information current whenever ownership, management, or service providers change. The notice must include full contact details for the owner, management entity, resident superintendent (if one exists), and—where oil heat is used—the fuel supplier. For Tenants

Section 430-2 entitles tenants in Port Jervis buildings to find key contact information—owner, management, superintendent, and heating supplier—posted visibly inside the main entrance of their building. If this notice is missing, outdated, or improperly displayed, tenants can report the issue to the City of Port Jervis Building Department, which is the office designated to receive filed copies of these notices. Tenant-rights organizations familiar with local ordinances can help residents understand what options may be available when a building is not in compliance with § 430-2.
