Plain English

Rensselaer, N.Y., Code of Ordinances ch. 121 § 121-55 establishes that mobile home courts must be equipped with functioning water, sewage, gas (where applicable), and electrical systems, each sized to handle the full demand of all connected homes. Water systems must deliver potable water at adequate pressure; sewage systems must safely dispose of waste without discharging into New York State waters except under special approval; and gas and electrical systems must be designed to meet peak load without pressure loss or conductor overload. Where public water or sewer service is unavailable, a private system approved by the relevant State, County, or City Health Department must be substituted.

For Property Managers

Operators of mobile home courts in Rensselaer should ensure that all utility systems required under ch. 121 § 121-55 are engineered and maintained to serve the maximum number of connected homes simultaneously. Compliant operators typically obtain Health Department approval for any private water or sewage systems, document system capacity, and keep gas and electrical infrastructure within design specifications to prevent pressure drops or conductor overloads. Routine inspections and capacity reviews help demonstrate ongoing compliance with the utility standards set out in this provision.
