(5) The insignia fee for a manufactured building shall be based on the square footage of floor area.
Alabama Administrative Code r. 535-X-11 § 535-X-11-.11 establishes the fee structure for filing, reviewing, and renewing plans and systems related to manufactured buildings made up of three-dimensional modules or component/core unit systems. Filing fees are due at the time of application submission and are nonrefundable under any circumstances. When a review is particularly complex, the Commission is authorized to charge an hourly rate beyond the standard filing fee, and renewal fees are set at a minimum of 50 percent of the original filing fees. Insignia fees for manufactured buildings are calculated based on the building's total square footage of floor area.

Operators and manufacturers working with modular or component/core unit manufactured buildings under Ala. Admin. Code r. 535-X-11 § 535-X-11-.11 generally prepare their fee payments in full at the time of application submittal, since all filing fees are nonrefundable once submitted. Compliant operators also account for the possibility of additional hourly review charges when submitting complex or sophisticated system designs, and they budget renewal fees at no less than 50 percent of the original filing amount. Insignia fees are calculated based on the square footage of the manufactured building's floor area, so accurate floor area documentation is a standard part of the submission process.
