Ala. Admin. Code r. 535-X-17 § 535-X-17-.06 establishes the penalty framework for manufactured housing regulations in Alabama by incorporating the penalty provisions of Section 24-5-14 of the Code of Alabama (1975) by reference. Rather than restating those penalties directly, the rule makes them fully operative as part of this regulatory scheme. Any violation of the manufactured housing rules is therefore subject to whatever sanctions, fines, or remedies Section 24-5-14 specifies.

For Property Managers

Property owners and managers dealing with manufactured housing in Alabama should be aware that § 535-X-17-.06 ties enforcement consequences directly to Section 24-5-14 of the Alabama Code. Compliant operators generally familiarize themselves with both the administrative rule and the underlying statutory penalty provisions to understand the full scope of potential liability. Reviewing both sources together gives a complete picture of what sanctions the Alabama Manufactured Housing Commission may impose.

For Tenants

Under § 535-X-17-.06, tenants in manufactured housing situations should know that penalty authority against violating parties is grounded in Section 24-5-14 of the Alabama Code, as adopted by the Alabama Manufactured Housing Commission. If a violation is suspected, general enforcement paths can include filing a complaint with the Commission or consulting a tenant-rights organization familiar with Alabama manufactured housing law. Understanding both the administrative rule and the referenced statute can help clarify what remedies or sanctions may be available.
