Idaho Code §§ 55-2701 to 55-2720 § 55-2707
FLOATING HOME MARINA — RULES AND REGULATIONS.
Operative Text
(1) Subject to the provisions of this chapter and to the terms of the rental agreement, the landlord may establish reasonable rules and regulations governing the use and occupancy of a floating home marina. A rule or regulation may be amended at any time with the consent of the tenants or without their consent upon written notice of not less than six (6) months. Written notice of a proposed amendment to a new tenant whose tenancy commences within the required period of notice shall constitute compliance with this subsection where the written notice is given to the tenant before the inception of this tenancy. (2) The landlord may enter a floating home in case of an apparent or actual emergency, when the tenant has abandoned the floating home, or as otherwise provided in the rental agreement. (3) Management must disclose the name and address of the marina owner upon the request of the tenant.
Idaho Code Title 55 ch. 27 § 55-2707 establishes the framework for rules and regulations at floating home marinas. A marina landlord may set reasonable rules governing how the marina is used and occupied, but any changes to those rules require either tenant consent or at least six months of written advance notice. The provision also addresses when a landlord may enter a floating home—limited to emergencies, abandonment, or terms spelled out in the rental agreement—and requires management to disclose the marina owner's identity upon a tenant's request.
Plain English — not legal advice.
Under § 55-2707, compliant floating home marina operators maintain a written set of rules and regulations that are consistent with the rental agreement and the broader Floating Homes Residency Act. When amending those rules without tenant consent, operators provide written notice at least six months in advance; for new tenants whose tenancy begins within that notice window, delivering the written notice before the tenancy starts satisfies the requirement. Operators also keep accurate records of the marina owner's name and address so that disclosure can be made promptly upon any tenant's request, and they limit entry into floating homes to the circumstances the statute permits.

Section 55-2707 of the Idaho Floating Homes Residency Act gives tenants meaningful protections around marina rule changes: a landlord cannot unilaterally impose new rules without either your agreement or at least six months of written notice. Tenants also have the right to request and receive the marina owner's name and address from management at any time. If you believe a rule change was made without proper notice, or that a landlord entered your floating home outside the permitted circumstances, tenant-rights organizations or Idaho legal aid services can help you understand the general enforcement paths available, such as raising a violation as a defense in a tenancy proceeding.
