Mont. Admin. R. 37.111.1217 establishes a set of physical and sanitation standards that apply to shelter units in regulated camps in Montana. After each occupancy, units must be cleaned thoroughly, kept in good repair, and maintained in safe and sanitary condition. Specific requirements govern bedding covers, laundering, food utensil handling, moisture-resistant surfaces, anti-slip bathing facilities, and a maximum hot-water temperature of 120°F.

Operators subject to Mont. Admin. R. 37.111.1217 generally ensure that each shelter unit is cleaned between occupancies and kept in continuous good repair. Compliant operators use machine-washable mattress covers, follow the laundering protocols cross-referenced in ARM 37.111.121, and confirm that food and drink utensils are properly washed, rinsed, sanitized, and stored to prevent contamination. Routine inspections of moisture-prone rooms, bathing area anti-slip surfaces, and water heater temperature settings are part of maintaining compliance with this rule.
