N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 354-A: § 354-A:23
Posting of Commission Notices.
Operative Text
Every person, employer, employment agency, labor union, real estate agency and rental office subject to this chapter shall post in a conspicuous place or places on his premises a notice to be prepared or approved by the commission, which shall set forth excerpts of this chapter and such other relevant information which the commission deems necessary to explain the chapter. Any employer, employment agency, real estate agency, rental office or labor union refusing to comply with the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a violation if a natural person, or guilty of a misdemeanor if any other person.
New Hampshire Revised Statutes § 354-A:23 requires that landlords, rental offices, real estate agencies, employers, employment agencies, and labor unions post a commission-approved notice in a visible location on their premises. The notice must include excerpts from Chapter 354-A and any additional information the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights considers necessary to inform the public about the law. Failure to post the required notice is a criminal offense — classified as a violation for individuals and a misdemeanor for organizations.

Under N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 354-A:23, rental offices and real estate agencies are expected to obtain the commission-approved notice from the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights and display it in a conspicuous location accessible to tenants, applicants, and visitors. Compliant operators typically check periodically that the posting remains visible and up to date, replacing it if it becomes damaged or outdated. Failure to maintain the required posting can result in a criminal charge — a violation for an individual owner or a misdemeanor for a business entity.

Section 354-A:23 of New Hampshire's anti-discrimination law gives tenants and housing applicants the right to expect a commission-approved fair housing notice to be visibly posted at any rental office or real estate agency where they do business. If no such notice is displayed, that absence may itself constitute a violation of the law by the rental office or agency. Tenants who believe this posting requirement is not being met can report the concern to the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights or consult a tenant-rights organization for guidance on available options.
