For Property Managers

N.J.S.A. 52:27D-286 does not impose direct obligations on private landlords, but property owners involved in affordable housing or shelter operations may find relevance in the interest subsidy and grant programs it establishes. Operators of structures designated as shelters for homeless persons under P.L.1983, c. 343 may be eligible for loans or grants from the Housing Demonstration Fund when the Commissioner of Community Affairs determines assistance is necessary. Compliant operators in this space generally maintain documentation of their designation status and the nature of accommodations provided in order to support any application for such assistance.
