In addition to the annual fee, first-time applicants must pay a $100 administrative fee plus 50% of the annual fee if a plan review is required. Operators of mobile home parks in North Dakota are subject to the annual licensing fees set out in § 33-33-01-07, which scale with the number of lots in the park. Compliant operators typically calculate their fee tier based on current lot count, budget for the additional $100 administration fee and plan review surcharge when submitting an initial application, and remit payment to the department on the required schedule. Keeping accurate lot-count records helps ensure the correct fee tier is applied each renewal cycle.

Section 33-33-01-07 of the North Dakota Administrative Code requires that mobile home park operators hold a valid state license, the cost of which is determined by the size of the park. Tenants residing in mobile home parks may find it relevant to know that their park is subject to this licensing requirement, as an unlicensed operation could be a basis for raising concerns with the relevant state department. Tenant-rights organizations or the department itself can provide general information about how to verify a park's licensing status or report potential compliance issues.
