Plain English — not legal advice.
Under W. Va. C.S.R. § 87-1-12, property owners and managers who oversee driveways or private roads should be aware that no vehicle may cross an unprotected fire hose laid on those surfaces without authorization from the commanding fire official. Compliant operators typically ensure that drivers on their properties are informed of this restriction and that access routes do not interfere with active fire department operations. Maintaining clear communication with on-scene fire officials is a standard practice when emergency equipment is deployed on or near a property.
